Thank you! Those variables make the sky the limit, which is also the scary thing about them. I just might try them out now.

I agree that a big part of the puzzle is simply getting out there and hustling day to day. I also think it's very important to leverage as many tools as possible to get your work seen by people who might be potential clients.

One thing I'm trying to work on is a way to incorporate very personalized video that can be embedded onto freelancers' personal websites, shared on Facebook / Twitter, e-mailed to friends and potential clients, etc -- a way to promote a freelancer's portfolio and personal brand through documentary-style video.

If that is something that anyone here might find useful, why don't you check it out at: http://seemehearme.motionthink.com and let me know what you think? :)

With fresh goat cheese and a drizzle of honey. Slurp.

Good metaphor. Maybe too good, 'cause all I can think of now is,..FIGS! ;-)

Yes, pie with ice cream is always good. I don't get that many cherries though. Usually the crows, squirrels and chipmunks beat me to them. :)

I know what you mean, Bill. I think a lot of marketing is done that way, like throwing seeds to the wind without a lot of consideration for where they are likely to land.

I'm not sure about sour cherries, but I could probably be talked into a piece of pie with ice cream :D

I like this metaphor. I've thinking along these lines recently in connection with selling my house. Real estate seems to be about just throwing it out there to everyone in the market with little or no targeting of people who would actually appreciate and want the kind of house I have. So many of the viewings etc. feel like a waste of everyone's time.

However, while I like the metaphor I have to admit I'm not much of a fig enthusiast. In this case, I'm afraid I'm in the third group. By the way, how do you feel about sour cherries? I've got those. My neighbour made a pie after picking some of mine. :)
