Rent Sunshine Coast

Kim Fenton had a relatively new business as a property manager under the Royal LePage umbrella. She wanted a design which could leverage the strength of the RLP brand while being more reflective of her personal style and of the Sunshine Coast. We used a drawing of a cottage by a local artist and wrapped it in a colourful abstracted coastal landscape.

Kim is able to add property listings as they become available. She’s also able to add blog posts and resources which will both benefit her visitors and give some extra juiciness for the search engines.

We also helped her to create an interactive map of the coast that she can update with points of interest over time.

Oakridge Style

We were engaged by Fjord Interactive, a division of Cossette, to build a new web site for Oakridge Mall in Vancouver. This customized WordPress build provides Oakridge staff with a light-weight content management system and blogging capability.

We created a custom page template for the mall’s annual fashion show. In future years they can create a new page which will automatically display their videos from YouTube. Big thanks to TubePress for making this job easier than it sounds.

Developers at Fjord knocked our socks off by creating a great store map which can also be maintained via WordPress.

Healingscents

Healingscents Aromatherapy has been in business for over 10 years and when they asked us to help, their website looked almost as old. Not only was the visual design out of date but it contained outdated information which was cumbersome to change.

We created a visual design that aligns seamlessly with their latest offline branding elements. The site is integrated into a WordPress back end so they can update their content as often as they like.

Mibrella

Mibrella had been working with another website company and were almost finished their first website when they approached us. They knew what they had wasn’t working for them, and they also wanted the ability to update the site themselves.

We arranged for some great copywriting and created a new design. Of course we created a custom WordPress theme and also integrated their promotional video and some Flickr photos.

The Mibrella team was a real pleasure to work with and we’re so glad they love their new website.

Bearwood Music

Bearwood Music, an independent record label based in Gibsons, BC, asked us to create a website for their new venture. We designed a fairly simple aesthetic using strong colours from their recently created logo.

They also wanted to be able to update all the site content — including adding more artists and CDs to their roster as they grow.

Using WordPress they’re able to enter the artist bios and pictures, and sample MP3 tracks. Adding “Buy Now” buttons are also simple — they just paste a bit of info from iTunes, Zunior, or CCNow and the buttons are automatically added to the page.

Darren Barefoot, social media consultant, is a prolific blogger who needs no introduction to most Canadian geeks & bloggers. As his communications firm says, “We speek geek.”

We were thrilled to help Darren with his latest redesign. He commissioned a header graphic which was our starting point for the design:

Darren asked for us to use a different photo of himself and to make it “less yellow”. The result is more balanced and representative of his increasing popularity as a speaker, yet still fun and geeky.

Kenaxis Creative

The Kenaxis team makes really interesting software to unleash musical creativity. Their old site was visually appealing but difficult to manage and poorly constructed for SEO.

We designed a new richer look for them and built it in WordPress so that they can easily grow and update the site.

The new site’s spotlight section highlights wonderful artists who are using Kenaxis to create magical sounds. While giving back to the community it also adds valuable keywords for search engines. Since launching the new site, key metrics are up: sessions and pageviews per day as well as pageviews per session which means visitors are staying on the site longer.
